Crochet Bear Glasses Holder Pattern

Head of the bear glasses holder crochet

With the 4 mm crochet. We’ll build the head of the crochet bear glasses holder from bottom to top.

Ch 15, starting the 2nd loop from the hook:

Row 1: 14 sc (14)

Row 2: sc inc, 12 sc, sc inc (16)

R7 to 8: 24 sc (24)

Row 9: sc inc, 22 sc, sc inc (26)

R19: sc dec x2, 8 sc, sc dec x 2 (12)

R20: sc dec x2, 4 sc, sc dec x 2 (8)

Cut yarn and weave in ends.

Make two of them: one is the front side of the head, the other is the back side. Cut a cardboard a little smaller then them, then insert it in between the 2 sides of the head, before single crocheting around them (to join them together), to make a sturdy and solid head for your crochet bear glasses holder.

Note: I recommend you to sew the muzzle on the face of the crochet bear glasses holder before joining the two sides together, because it will be a little difficult to sew it later on (like I did).

Muzzle

With the 4 mm hook. Work it amigurumi style, no joining rounds with a slip stitch at the end.

Make a magic circle.

Round 1: 6 sc (6)

Round 2: 6 sc inc (12)

R3: (1 sc, sc inc) x6 (18)

R4: 1 sc, sc inc, 2 sc, hdc inc, 2 sc, sc inc, 2 sc, sc inc, 2 sc, hdc inc, 2 sc, sc inc, 1 sc (24)

R5: 3 sc, sc inc, 2 sc, 1 hdc, (1 hdc, 1 sc) in the next stitch, (3 sc, sc inc) x 2, 2 sc, 1 hdc, (1 hdc, 1 sc) in the next stitch, 3 sc, sc inc (30)

R6: 30 sc (30)

R7: 1 sc, sc dec, 8 sc, sc dec x 2, 3 sc in the next stitch, sc dec x 2, 8 sc, sc dec (26)

R8: 10 sc, sc dec, 1 sc, hdc inc, 1 sc, sc dec, 9 sc (25)

Cut yarn and leave a long tail for sewing.

Stuff the muzzle with polyester fiberfill, then sew it on the face on the bottom part of it.

Nose of The Crochet Bear Glasses Holder

With the 3 mm crochet hook and amigurumi dk yarn.

Make a magic circle.

Row 1: 5 sc (5)

Row 2: ch 1 then turn, sc inc, 1 sc, (1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 sc) in the next stitch, 1 sc, sc inc (9)

R3: ch 1, don’t turn, we will work on the top of the rows and in the middle of the magic circle: 1 sc, sl st in the middle of the magic circle, 1 sc, ch 1 then invisible stitch in the 1st stitch of row 2 (3)

Cut yarn and weave in ends.

Sew or glue the nose on the muzzle of the crochet bear glasses holder, in the middle top.

Ears

With the 4 mm hook.

Make a magic circle. We will work in rows, not in rounds, so every row ends with a ch 1 then turn.

Round 1: ch 1, 5 hdc (5), close the ring, ch 1 then turn.

Row 2: (hdc inc) x 5 (10)

R3: (1 hdc, hdc inc) x 5 (15)

R4: 15 hdc (15)

Cut yarn, weave in ends. Make 2 of them.

The inside of the ear:

With the 3 mm hook and amigurumi dk yarn.

Make a magic circle. We will work in rows, not in rounds, so every row ends with a ch 1 then turn.

Row 1: ch 1, 5 hdc (5)

Row 2: 5 hdc inc (10)

R3: (1 hdc, hdc inc) x 5 (15)

Cut yarn and weave in ends. Sew or glue them inside the ears we previously made. Then sew the ears on top of the head of the crochet bear glasses holder.

Front legs

With the 4 mm hook.

Ch 15, starting the 2nd loop from the hook:

Row 1 to 5: 14 sc (14)

R6: sc inc, 12 sc, sc inc (16)

R7 to 8: 16 sc (16)

R9: sc inc, 14 sc, sc inc (18)

R10: sc dec, 14 sc, sc dec (16)

R11: sc dec, 12 sc, sc dec (14)

We’ll now make the first leg (the left one).

R12: 7 sc (7), ch1 then turn.

R13: 7 sc (7)

R14: sc dec, 5 sc (6)

R15: 4 sc, sc dec (5)

R16: sc dec, 3 sc (4)

R17: 3 sc, 3 sc in the last stitch (6)

R18: sc inc, 5 sc (7)

R19: sc dec, 1 sc, sc dec x 2 (4)

Cut yarn and weave in ends.

Go to the other side, back at row 11. Take your work as shown in the picture down below, then join the yarn with a sc in the 1 stitch. We’ll now make the 2nd leg (the right one).

Repeat from row 12 to 19, then cut yarn and weave in the ends. Make two of them (the front and back side). And just like we did with the head, we will cut a cardboard in the same shape as the front legs and then insert it in between the two sides. Then join them together by single crocheting around.

The Back of the cute bear glasses holder

With the 4 mm crochet. We will build it from the top to the bottom.

Ch 17, starting the 2nd loop from the hook:

Row 1: 16 sc (16)

Row 2: sc inc, 14 sc, sc inc (18)

R3: sc inc, 16 sc, sc inc (20)

R4: sc inc x2, 16 sc, sc inc x2(24)

R5: 1 sc, sc inc, 20 sc, sc inc, 1 sc (26)

R6 to 16: 26 sc (26)

R17: sc dec x2, 18 sc, sc dec x 2 (22)

R18: sc dec, 18 sc, sc dec (20)

R19: 20 sc (20)

R20: sc dec, 16 sc, sc dec (18)

Cut yarn and weave in ends. Make 2 of them and just like we did before, cut a piece of cardboard the same shape as your back, insert it between the 2 sides, then join the 2 sides together by single crocheting around.

The back feet – Crochet Bear Glasses Holder

With the 4 mm crochet hook. Work the round in the amigurumi method, that is to say no joining round at the end of each one of them.

Ch 7, starting the 2nd loop from the hook:

Round 1: 5 sc, 3 sc last stitch of the chain, continue working on the other side of the chain: 4 sc, 2 sc in the 1st loop of the chain (where we already made a sc) (14)

Round 2: sc inc, 4 sc, sc inc x 3, 4 sc, sc inc x 2 (20)

R3: 1 sc, sc inc, 4 sc, (1 hdc, hdc inc) x 3, 4 sc, (1 sc, sc inc) x 2 (26)

Add 2 sc, then sl st in the next stitch (or make an invisible join).

Cut yarn and weave in ends.

Make 4 of them. Take 2 of them for 1 foot, place them back to back and single crochet around to join them together. Stuff the inside of the foot with some polyester fiberfill. Do the same for the 2nd foot.

Then sew the 2 feet on each side of the back’s bottom. Note that the part of the feet where we made the HDC, are the top of the feet, so place them accordingly before sewing.

The hdc of the last round are on the top of the feet.
The Rectangular cuboid

Now, let’s make a rectangular prism to hold the front and back of the bear together and keep the crochet bear glasses holder standing nicely!

With the 4 mm crochet hook.

Ch 11, starting the 2nd loop from the hook:

Row 1 to 7: 10 hdc (10)

Round 8: We will now crochet around the rectangle that we got: ch 1, 6 hdc on the side, ch 1, 10 hdc on the bottom of row 1, ch 1, 6 hdc on the other side, ch 1, 10 hdc on top of row 7 (32), sl st in the 1st ch1 at the end of the round.

Round 9: ignore all the ch 1 we previously made, and make a ch1 then 32 hdc (32), sl st in the 1st hdc at the end of the round.

R10 to 13: 32 hdc (32) sl st in the 1st hdc at the end of each round.

Cut yarn and leave a tail long enough for sewing.

Now fill the inside of the rectangular cuboid with polyester fiberfill, then sew the part where it has a hole to the middle top of the back.
