Hello dear crochet friends! Don’t you love a simple yet cute amigurumi free pattern? Yes? Me too! And since I’m the nicest crochet designer ever (just kidding or am I?), today I’m sharing with you the pattern of my little amigurumi cloud. It will be perfect for bedroom decor, baby mobile, a keychain…
I often get asked if a project is beginner-friendly or not. Most of the time I’m unsure of what I should answer to that question, because I firmly believe that you can be a beginner and challenge yourself with mild to big projects. But for this pattern I can tell you this: if you are a beginner and know how to crochet in rounds, then this will be the perfect project for you! It’s simple and you can finish it in a day. Firstly, let’s see what we will need for this project.
Material for the Amigurumi Cloud:
- 100% white cotton yarn Ricorumi DK, 25g/57,5m or any cotton yarn made for amigurumi
- A 3 mm crochet hook
- polyester fiberfill for stuffing
- a sewing needle and stitch markers

Hey! I LOVE this cute little pattern. I am wanting to make it using chenille yarn that is bulky (6) but I am unsure how to adjust for hook size? Have you tried this before in different yarns or do you have any advice as I work this up in a different yarn size? I am fairly intermediate skill in most areas of crochet, and more skilled in other areas of crochet, but I am a beginner in amigurumi!
Hello Staci,
Thank you so much for your kind words! I have a video tutorial up on youtube where I propose an alternative pattern for this cloud with a larger hook size, I think that might works better than with this written pattern which is for a much smaller size hook than the one you will use with the chenille yarn. The tutorial link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTPaUnBrr4o
You may as well follow this pattern and then adapt it along the way by adding more rounds at some points, to give it the full rounded shape on each cloud’s sections. I’m planning to make a cloud pillow pattern with chenille/velvet yarn soon when I have the time. 😉
Pues, hoy lo comenzaré a hacer. Espero entenderlo. Ya te lo comentaré. Gracias
I made it with a 20mm hook (turned out super cute) and it wound out to be 3.5 feet long 🤣. I need more stuffing 😅
