If you’re anything like me, you know there’s nothing better than curling up with a good book and a warm cup of coffee. My love for both coffee and reading inspired this fun project—a Spilled Coffee Crochet Bookmark! It combines two of my favorite things in a playful way, and let’s just say it also reflects a bit of my real-life clumsiness. I’m known within my family for spilling my coffee on just about everything, so this quirky bookmark seemed like the perfect design to share with fellow coffee and book lovers! Let’s get started!
Material – Spilled Coffee Crochet Bookmark

Abbreviations
ch: chain
sl st: slip stitch
sc: single crochet
inc: increase
dec: decrease
BLO: back loops only
R: row/round
Notes
Every round ends with a sl st in the 1st sc of the round.
Every row ends with a ch 1 then turn.
The gauge for both yarns is: 5 x 5 cm = 14 sc x 15 rows
The craft wire, measuring 17 cm in length, will be used exclusively for shaping the top edge of the droplets to form the bookmark.
“sc increase of 3” means you make 3 single crochets in the same stitch, while “sc inc” refers to a basic increase where you make 2 single crochets in one stitch.
Similarly, “sc dec of 3” means you decrease 3 stitches down to 1.

The Cup
Make a magic circle.
Round 1: 6 sc (6)
Round 2: sc inc x 6 (12)
R3: 12 sc blo (12)
R4 to 8: 12 sc (12)
R9: 12 sl st (12) , Finish the round with the 12th sl st, DO NOT join the round at the end with a sl st to the 1st stitch. We will now make the handle: ch8, then starting the 2nd loop from the hook: 7 sl st.
Cut the yarn, and sew both tips of the handle to the top and bottom of the cup.

Chain 1, then single crochet around the edges. I recommend watching the tutorial for this step, as it demonstrates how to crochet around the edge while incorporating the wire for added sturdiness. (start at 36:15)
After you’ve finished single crocheting around the edges, cut the yarn and weave in the ends. Then, sew the top of the droplet inside the cup. Your bookmark is now complete!
