The Crochet Bookshelf Bookmark Pattern
The Bookshelf
With the acrylic brown yarn, ch 17. Starting the 2nd loop from the hook:
Row 1: 16 sc (16)
Row 2 to 50: 16 sc (16)
Now we will work the edges of the bookmark. Grab your craft wire, we will work the edges around the wire (see pictures below). Chain 1 then sc around the rectangle, make sure to make 2sc in each corner to round them and give them a better shape.
The dimensions of the final rectangle are 14,5 cm x 4,7 cm.
The Shelf – Crochet Bookshelf Bookmark
Ch 5, and starting the 2nd loop from the hook:
Round 1: 3 sc, (4 sc in the last stitch), continue working in the other side of the chain base: 2 sc, (3 sc in the last stitch of the round) (12)
Round 2: 12 sc BLO (12)
R3 to 18: 12 sc (12)
Insert the wooden stick or cardboard inside the shelf now. Then continue working the last round:
R19: 12 sc BLO (12)
With a yarn needle, close the hole. Weave in the ends.
Sew the shelf on the rectangle, around the 39th round.
The Books
With the color of your choice, pick your amigurumi yarn and ch8. Starting the 2nd loop from the hook:
Round 1: 7 sc (7)
Round 2 to 6: 7 sc (7)
We will work now the edges of the book: ch 1, 5 sc on the 1st side, ch 1, 7 sl st on the bottom, ch 1, 5 sc on the other side, ch 1, 7 sl st. Ch 1, cut the yarn and make an invisible join.
For the pages, pick a white yarn then ch 6. Starting the 2nd loop from the hook:
Round 1 to 3: 5 sc (5)
Cut the yarn and weave in ends. Fold the book, and glue the pages in between. Make 2 books this same way.
The Flower Pot
With the color of your choice, pick your amigurumi yarn and make a magic circle. We will work the pot in the amigurumi technique (no joining rounds).
Round 1: 6 sc (6)
Round 2: BLO: (1 sc, sc inc) x 3 (9)
R3: (2 sc, sc inc) x 3 (12)
R4 to 5: 12 sc (12)
Cut the yarn and weave the ends.
The leaves – Crochet Bookshelf Bookmark
With the green amigurumi yarn , ch 7. Starting the 2nd loop from the hook:
Round 1: 1 hdc, 2 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc, (sl st, ch1, sl st) in the last loop, then continue working on the other side of the chain base: 1 sc, 1 hdc, 2 dc, 1 hdc, ch 1 then sl st in the 1st hdc of the round. (12 stitches and 2 ch 1)
Cut the yarn and leave a tail for sewing. Make 3 of them.
Insert the three leaves in the pot with their backs facing in, then sew them in place, letting their tips hang out over the edge of the pot. (see picture below)
The Flowers
With a purple or pink amigurumi cotton yarn, ch 2.
Now in the 1st loop of the ch2 repeat this (sl st, ch 1) a total of 6 times. At the last ch1, make another sl st back to the 1st loop of the ch2 base, then cut the yarn and weave the end to finish your flower. Make 3 this way and sew them on the leaves.
Now all is left to do is to glue the books and the flower pot on the shelf and you’re done!
