Material – Crochet Lemon Bookmark Pattern
Abbreviations
ch : chain
sl st : slip stitch
sc : single crochet
hdc : half double crochet
dc : double crochet
tr : treble crochet
dtr : double treble crochet
inc : increase
dec : decrease
stitch-number-tog : It’s a decrease: each stitch is started in a different stitch, then finished together to reduce the stitch count. For example, sc5tog means you’ll begin 5 single crochets in 5 separate stitches, leaving each one unfinished. Then, yarn over and pull through all the loops on your hook to close them into one single decrease.

Row 1: (2 sc, sc inc, 2 sc) x 6 (36)

The tab – Crochet Lemon Bookmark Pattern
First, slide the wire inside the lemon in an upside down U shape as shown in the picture below, near the rounded part:

Make sure that the wire is far inside the lemon to keep it as sturdy as possible when holding the wire by itself.

Once it’s done, twirl the two sides of the wire together as shown above.
With your mercerized thin yarn, and the 2 mm hook, ch 56. Starting the 2nd loop from the hook, and by working the stitches around the wire, make:

Row 1: 55 hdc (55)

Cut yarn and leave a tail for sewing. Sew the tab to the lemon, making sure to hide the wire. At the opposite side, hide the hanging wire inside the stitches on the back.

And just like that, you’re done! Switch up the colors, and this crochet lemon slice easily becomes a crochet orange slice or even a grapefruit. Zesty creativity at its finest!
