Sew the mitten – Crochet Convertible Bear Mittens
To sew the mitten, fold your work in half and secure it as shown in the images below.
Sew from the bottom to the top to close the mitten, making sure to stitch the thumb section as well for a complete finish. In the pictures below, I show you how to sew the mitten with the pink yarn:
For the other hand, simply flip your work to the opposite side and sew it in the same way, adjusting for the reversed perspective.

The Bear Ears – Crochet Convertible Bear Mittens
Make a magic circle. We will work in rows and not in round, so you chain 1 and turn at the end of each row below:
Row 1: 5 sc (5)
Row 2: sc inc, 1 sc, sc inc, 1 sc, sc inc (8)
R3: 2 sc, sc inc, 2 sc, sc inc, 2 sc (10)
Cut the yarn, leaving a tail for sewing. Make four pieces in total. Sew two ears to each of the tops we made earlier to create the bear’s head.
Sew the top to the bottom of the mitten
To turn the mitten into a convertible glove, insert the top section slightly into the top of the bottom part; just a small overlap, leaving enough space for it to fold. To determine the right amount, slide your hand inside and adjust so your fingers have enough room when the mitten is closed. Sew the top to the bottom along the back only, making sure it remains foldable. This allows you to easily flip it off your fingers to switch between a mitten and a fingerless glove.
To complete your gloves, sew a button onto the back of each mitten, positioned at the bottom and well-centered. Next, use your yarn to create two loops: chain 4, then slip stitch into the first chain to form a circle. Sew each loop to the back of the mitten’s top section. This allows you to secure the mitten’s top to the button when folded back, keeping it in place.
Chain 4, sl st in the 1st loop to form a circle:
Sew the loop and the button on their right places at the back of the mitten:
And voilà, you’re all finished! Now you can stay cozy and stylish this winter with these adorable Crochet Convertible Bear Mittens!
